Welcome Back! Weekly Announcements

Parents and Students,
I hope everyone has had a nice and restful break! I know the time away has been wonderful but I am very excited to start the new semester and to get back to making music! We have a lot of great events coming this semester including: a trip to Chicago, several pep band games, state MPA, All-state, Solo and Ensemble, a few concerts, and numerous honor bands. It is going to be a great semester for the Troubadours! Here are the announcements for the week:

  • The Third Nine Weeks Playing Test will be Thursday and Friday January 5th and 6th during 8th period. All prepared etudes were passed out before break. If you have misplaced your etude a copy can be found at this link: Playing Test Etudes. Make sure to practice during the break and come prepared. This playing test will determine seating for MPA.
  • Our only Pep Band Rehearsal will be this Friday, January 6th, from 4:00pm - 9:00pm. Students will have an hour, 6:00pm - 7:00pm, to grab dinner. Since this is our only rehearsal it is crucial that all pep band members attend the entire Rehearsal. The purpose of this rehearsal is to add as many standtunes to our repertoire as possible. The first pep band game will be Tuesday, January 17th.
  • This Saturday we will have MPA Camp for all members of the Troubadour Symphonic Band. MPA Camp is from 11:00am-6:00pm here is the itinerary for the event: MPA Camp Itinerary. We have some wonderful clinicians coming to work with each section throughout the day. It is going to be a great afternoon!
  • The next Chicago Trip Payment is due January 9th. This payment is for $100.
Have a great new years day and I look forward to seeing everyone on January 4th!

Happy New Year!
Mr. Rogers
