Outstanding Band Camp!!!

Parents and Students,
Band Camp is officially finished! Thanks to all those who helped make it such a great success! The Troubadours were able to put the entire show on the field today. Despite blistering heat and rain, the band, in just 5 short days, learned 50 pages of drill. This is an outstanding achievement, a feat not very many programs will accomplish during camp. As promised, here is a video of the Troubadours marching a portion of the show.
Our first performance, Friday August 19th, cannot get here soon enough! I hope everyone enjoys their well deserved rest, and I will see the Troubadours next Wednesday to start cleaning and improving the show!

Go Troubadours!!!

Band Camp Exhibition Tomorrow!

Parents and Students,
The Marching Troubadours have been working hard this week! They have learned the majority of the show in just three days. It is going to be a great year at Montevallo. Tomorrow evening at 6:00pm the Troubadours are hosting an exhibition to show what they have learned in just a few short days. To celebrate their accomplishment, there will be a cookout on the band field after the exhibition. If you are able to contribute please click on the link: Exhibition Cook-out Sign Up. The students should be very proud of what they have accomplished these past two weeks! Have a great evening!

Band Camp Week 2!

Parents and Students,
Band Camp is off to a great start. The Troubadours have worked very hard over the past week to learn the entire show, and I hope everyone has spent time this weekend working on memorization! Next week we will be outside each day from 7-3. Here are some reminders for the upcoming week:

  • Stay Safe! Make sure each day that students have a water bottle, sun protection, and that you come well hydrated and fed.
    • If you have a canopy that you would be willing to donate for camp your help would be greatly appreciated.
  • Be on time! Rehearsal starts on the field at 7:00am
  • Remember your homework! Each person needs to have noted their marching pages into their music. Also memorize your music.
  • If you are able to help with the exhibition/ cookout on Thursday please go to this link and sign-up: Cookout Sign-up.
Thank you to all of the parents, staff members, leadership and most importantly the students for all of your hard work in band camp week 1. We are off to a great start and it is going to be a great year!
